Eiffel Tower, Paris

I know that you are wondering why Eiffel Tower is so overdone by travel writers. Read through this post and you might learn a new thing about the iron lattice tower that you did not know.

The tower was mounted in 1889 as an entrance to the 1889 World's Fair. It is the most recognizable and most visited structure in the world, having gotten its 250 millionth visitor in 2010. In France, the building ranks 2nd in height after Millau Viaduct.

Eiffel Tower has 3 levels. The 1st and 2nd level has restaurants while the third is an observatory located about 276 meters above the ground. Recently, the 125 year old structure was updated by putting glass floor on the first level. Now, the visitors can enjoy the breathtaking views of Paris all around them.

If I were you, I would lay on the glass floor and take a selfie...trust me; your friends will be envious. Now you know why the Eiffel Tower is so overdone. Its allure seems to never fade!
