Costa Rica Hidden Wonders with Horizontes!

Biking, hiking and rafting, this awesome experience has it all. A real adventure that begins in Turrialba, Cartago Province.

First you take a bike and ride till you get to the starting point of your trek. Then you hike into the mountains on the same trails that the Cabecar indigenous group use for their regular journeys. The walk is through the forest and pasture lands and ends in a small town called Vereh.

In Vereh you will meet and stay with the local people in their simple homes, or you can choose to stay on a tent set for you. You can join the family in their everyday activities, explore the area or just drink coffee and rest.

The next day you will hike to the Indigenous reservation.

The third and last day you can walk or run to the top section of the Pacuare River where there are class III and IV rapids.

All the rafting equipment is carried by horses and at the end of your rafting experience, our car will be waiting to take you back to Turrialba.

Very few people have the great opportunity of visiting this beautiful area of our country.

With a round and wide body that tapers towards the tail, and a flattened and slender head, the humpback whale has a very characteristic shape and despite their enormous size, they are able to jump out of the water providing a spectacular show for the ones lucky enough to be there at the right time.

They can be seen breaking in coastal waters, coming out of the water and hitting its huge back against it. They travel alone, in very small groups or in groups of up to 15 whales,

Humpback whales can be seen in two seasons: from December to the end of March, when they come from the northern hemisphere and from July to the end of October, coming from the southern hemisphere, with their newborns.

It is a privilege to have them in Costa Rica and it gives us the opportunity to watch them almost all year round and get to know them better.

This beautiful four-star Mediterranean-style hotel rests on a rainforest-covered hill overlooking the famed Ballena Marine National Park, a crucial site for the world's Pacific Humpback Whales to reproduce and give birth.
