The world is indeed getting smaller but being able to travel has made it bigger! What if you are given the chance to travel with your kids and learn with them, would you grab that opportunity?

The concept of shipboard education was first envisioned almost a hundred years ago by James Edwin Lough, a New York University psychology professor. It eventually led to the sailing of SS Ryndam with 504 students and a staff of 63. It was a success, but it was in the 1960s that the concept was revived, and the University of the Seas was established. It had its share of ups and downs, and in 1976, it was renamed Semester at Sea.  Today, it continues to thrive and has given thousands of students the opportunity to see the world while getting a good education.  

One of its programs, the Enrichment Voyages, provides the opportunity for younger kids to experience how it is to study on board a ship and visit different countries with their parents or grandparents, making it a fun and enjoyable learning experience for the entire family. You may think of it as a learning cruise where everyone leaves the ship with more knowledge about the world beyond their city, state or country. Learning does not stop when they reach a port of call, everyone gets to see the places they have read or studied about. The ship also provides  the opportunity to form lifelong friendships.
